​Applications Available For The 2024 Stamford Arts & Culture Grant​


STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Arts & Culture Commission announced this week it is taking applications for the Stamford Arts & Culture (SAC) Grant.

This grant funds arts and cultural programming and art projects in the city of Stamford.

For the past decade, the Stamford Arts & Culture Commission has provided funding for numerous arts and culture-focused projects through Stamford-based arts and cultural organizations.

This year, the city has allocated $191,500 in grant funding for the Arts & Culture Commission to distribute to nonprofit organizations and artists.

“The arts bring vibrancy and pride to our community, and I am excited to see the ideas and programming that will come through this year’s application process,” said Mayor Caroline Simmons in a news release. “I want to thank Director of Economic Development Leah Kagan, Chair of the Arts & Culture Commission Lynne Colatrella, members of the Arts & Culture Commission, and Program Manager Aaron Miller, for their dedication and work to expand arts and culture programming in our city.”

Last year, 21 organizations received funding ranging from $3,000 to $15,000 which was utilized for events and projects that bolster arts and culture programming in Stamford, including:

  • Avon Theatre Film Center
  • Ballet School of Stamford
  • Carwin Park Summer Concert Series & Ferguson Library
  • Connecticut Ballet
  • Ecuadorian Civic Community of Fairfield County
  • Highland Green Foundation
  • Latino Foundation of Stamford
  • En Vivo con Maricarmen & Ferguson Library
  • INTEMPO
  • La Tertulia
  • Loft Artists Association
  • Project Music
  • Grupo Quetzal
  • All School Musical
  • Stamford Art Association
  • Stamford Chorale
  • Stamford Pride
  • Tallar de Marinera & Ferguson Library
  • The Jewish Historical Society of Fairfield County
  • Slowianie

“The Arts and Culture Commission is eager to receive applications for this grant opportunity,” said Colatrella said in a news release. “We look for a range of cultural programming that represents and embodies the diversity of our community.”
