Jesus Freaks’ Car Show in Hershey

HERSHEY, Neb. (KNOP) – On Sunday, Maria Lutheran Church hosted a unique car show fundraiser, where attendees were encouraged to make free-will donations. The event was aimed at supporting the church’s youth group, the Jesus Freaks, in their mission trip fundraising efforts.

The Jesus Freaks, are eagerly preparing for a life-changing journey to Kodiak, Alaska. Their mission is not only to assist the island’s residents but also to deepen their understanding of Jesus. This transformative experience will be shared by a total of 24 individuals, including 10 dedicated chaperones and 14 enthusiastic youth.

Chaperone Reagan Hudson shares what the purpose behind this trip is all about.

“Kodiak Baptist in Alaska is a unique community with its own ranch, hosting summer camps, family camps, and numerous youth camps. Our aim is to learn more about Jesus and self-sufficiency,” explained Chaperone Reagan Hudson. “Living on an Island, everything is expensive to import, so they have their own firewood, cattle, and farms. Our intention is to visit and lend a helping hand.”

This car show is Jesus Freaks’ last fundraiser before the big trip.

The youth group will take flight at the end of May.
