MAHLE improves electric car range by up to 20%

MAHLE, a key player in automotive technology, has announced securing two significant contracts for thermal management modules, marking a strategic advancement in the realm of e-mobility. One of these contracts, hailed as the largest single order in the company’s history, comes from a globally established vehicle manufacturer. The second order originates from an innovative car manufacturer based in the Asian region. Combined, these contracts represent an order volume of nearly €1.5 billion.

The thermal management modules developed by MAHLE are instrumental in regulating the temperature of various components in electric vehicles, such as the battery, vehicle cabin, powertrain, and power electronics. By consolidating individual components into these modules, MAHLE aims to enhance efficiency and performance, thereby extending the cruising range of electric cars by up to 20% and improving charging speeds.

The development of these modules underscores MAHLE’s commitment to driving the electrification of vehicles. With a growing market for thermal management products in e-cars, MAHLE anticipates significant growth opportunities in the coming years. The company recently unveiled a new bionic cooling plate, showcasing its dedication to innovation in the field of automotive technology.
