The Very Best Fashion Campaigns of the Year So Far

Spring has unmistakably sprung. In March, we emerged (slightly weathered) from a bumper fashion month of comebacks, farewells and viral moments – but keeping us on our toes in the meantime, the biggest brands have been dropping their Spring/Summer campaigns in aid of the changing season, urging us to cast off those layers and slip into something a little breezier. These are the campaigns that will deck billboards, bus stops, and lace through the pages of fashion magazines, ready to be ripped out and taped onto bedroom walls this spring.

So far, there have been some heavy hitters. Grinning in some exquisite angular sunglasses, Anatomy of a Fall star Sandra Hüller fronted the campaign for Phoebe Philo’s “second edit” (her brand eschews traditional seasonal releases for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter in favour of more timeless capsules), while The Supremes’ legend Diana Ross was revealed as the star of Saint Laurent’s super slick and slinky spring campaign. Balenciaga relaunched their Le City Bag, which first appeared in 2001 and became synonymous with the Y2K era – their Mario Sorrenti-shot campaign stars British fashion icon Kate Moss, Danish model Mona Tougaard, Chinese actress and singer Yang Chaoyue, and Korean singer Juyeon.
