SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Southern Dance and Performing Arts Company, a program of SAFE, is set for opening night as its cast performs Mary Chase’s renowned play, “Harvey,” a 1945 Pulitzer Prize winner.

This theatrical experience will unfold at the B.B. Comer High School auditorium, located at 801 Seminole Ave., with public show dates on Oct. 19-21 and Oct. 27 at 7:00 p.m., and a matinee performance on Oct. 28 at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $15 and can be purchased at the door or conveniently online at sdpac.net.

“Harvey” weaves a tale of whimsy and wit, revolving around Elwood P. Dowd and his invisible, six-foot-tall white rabbit friend, Harvey. When Elwood’s eccentricities threaten his family’s social standing, his sister Veta takes drastic action. However, a mix-up at the local sanatorium leads to a madcap chase through town, all while Elwood and Harvey remain one step ahead.

This timeless play promises laughter for all ages, and SDPAC is honored to bring “Harvey” to the stage in Sylacauga, thanks to the support of various sponsors.
