Niagara University, N.Y.—Niagara Athletics announced the 2023-24 Promotional Schedule for the Niagara women’s basketball program on Thursday. The schedule features 13 promotional games and one event to kick off the season.
On Oct. 27, the Niagara community will have the opportunity to see the team in person as Niagara will host an open practice and a meet and greet that will run from 5-7 PM at the Gallagher Center. Admission is free and open to any fan.
Niagara opens its preseason on Nov. 1 as they host Mercyhurst University for an exhibition. Niagara Athletic in conjunction with Niagara University’s Office of Violence Prevention & Education will host Paint the Town Purple Night for Domestic Violence Awareness. Any fan that is wearing purple in support of domestic violence awareness will have free admission.
The Purple Eagles celebrate their appearance in the 2022-23 WNIT on Nov. 8 in the regular season opener as they host Little Three Rival St. Bonaventure at the Gallagher Center. Niagara will put its first Division I era postseason banner in the rafters as there will also be a student tailgate, a t-shirt giveaway, and a schedule magnet giveaway.
On Nov. 11 the Purple Eagles host Duquesne and will host Military Appreciation Night.
Niagara will raise its second banner of the season on Nov. 19 as Victoria Rampado will be honored as her name will be raised to the rafters as part of her induction into the Niagara Athletics Hall of Fame. There will be a Victoria Rampado jersey towel giveaway as part of the event as well.
In their final home game of 2023, Niagara will have an Ugly Sweater Night as the Purple Eagles host Radford on Dec. 2 at 2 PM. The game will also be Faculty & Staff Appreciation Night.
On Jan. 4 Niagara hosts its annual Kids Day Game as the Fairfield Stags come to the Gallagher Center, tipoff is scheduled for 11 AM.
With students returning to campus for the spring semester, Jan. 18 will feature a Resident Hall Challenge as the Purple Eagles host Manhattan at 6 PM.
Niagara hosts Quinnipiac on Jan. 20, Niagara hosts National Girls and Women in Sports Day in collaboration with the Sports Bra Project. The Sports Bra Project helps increase access to sports for women and girls across the world. For more information on the Sports Bra Project click here.
On Feb. 1, Niagara is turning back time as they will host 80’s night as Saint Peter’s comes to town for a 6 PM tipoff.
As part of Cancer Prevention Awareness Month and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, Niagara will host a Play4Kay game and Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Feb. 15. The Purple Eagles welcome Siena to the Gallagher Center with tipoff scheduled for 6 PM.
On Feb. 17, Marist comes to the Gallagher Center as the Purple Eagles will have Heritage and Black History Night.
In the second to last home game, the Purple Eagles will host Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Night as Iona makes the trip to the Gallagher Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 PM.
The regular season concludes on Mar. 9 as the Battle of the Bridge rivalry comes to the Gallagher Center. Niagara will honor its senior class as the Purple Eagles face Canisius to close out the regular season.
