School bus driver cited for 4-car pileup in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A school bus driver was cited for a four-car crash in Lincoln County Thursday morning, state troopers said.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to a crash involving a school bus on North Carolina 16 near Unity Church Road around 7:30 a.m. Troopers said a school bus driving north on the highway failed to slow down and crashed into a Ford F-150 that was stopped in traffic. The impact pushed the truck into a Mini Cooper, which was shoved into a Land Rover.

The bus had 31 students from Lincoln Charter School on board, according to troopers. None of the kids were hurt in the crash.

The bus driver was cited for failure to reduce speed.
