Women’s Tennis Opens Play at ITA Regionals


LYNCHBURG, Va. – Members of the Saint Joseph’s women’s tennis team opened play at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships on Thursday.
 
Fabiana Tort-Umpierre won the first set of her match against Georgetown’s Morgan Coburn in the qualifying singles draw before ultimately falling in a supertiebreaker.
 
Ireland Amato fell to an opponent from George Washington, while Victoria Tracey went down to a seeded opponent from Old Dominion.
 
Play continues on Friday with the opening matches of the main singles and doubles draws.
