LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A 27-year-old man who was hit by a car while crossing the street last weekend has died from his injuries, according to Lincoln Police.

Lincoln Police said Jerry Laue died Wednesday evening after being in the hospital since the accident on Saturday.

The crash happened at Northwest 14th and West O Streets. According to LPD, an eastbound Mazda CX5, driven by a 22-year-old woman, hit Laue just after 1 a.m. LPD said they do not believe the Laue was at a marked crosswalk.

LPD said they do not believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

“The investigation is ongoing and any decision about possible citations is yet to be determined,” police said.
