Esports, lifestyle streamer Nickmercs signs eight-figure deal with Kick

Esports and gaming lifestyle streamer Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff signed a non-exclusive deal that will see the popular influencer streaming on Kick starting in October. Sources tell SBJ that Kolcheff, a co-owner of FaZe Clan, will be under contract for one year at about $10 million.

“We’ve been doing this for a long time, but I’m nowhere close to slowing down,” Kolcheff told SBJ’s Kevin Hitt. “I’m going to hit the gas and help the platform prioritize gaming in a big way. I’m excited to see how the MFAM [Mercs Family] can make a real impact on the future of streaming.”

Kolcheff, who had been streaming almost exclusively on Twitch for the last decade, has over 2.6 million followers on Instagram and over 6.7 million followers on rival streaming platform Twitch.

Kick was founded in 2022 by Bijan Tehrani, Ed Craven and streaming personality Trainwreckstv as a direct competitor to Amazon-owned Twitch. While the ownership structure and funding of the platform is undisclosed, Kick has made headway with streamers because it offers 95% of the subscriber revenue to streamers, whereas Twitch usually gives 50%. Kick has opened its coffers this past year, signing top names such as Felix “xQc” Lengyel and Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa. Those deals have been reported to be worth close to $35 million and $7 million, respectively.
