CRAWFORD COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU)– A Northern Michigan community college is continuing to explore different ways to help students save money.
Kirtland Community College in Crawford County is teaming up with Central Michigan University.
The partnership is designed to help transfer students pursuing a degree in dietetics and nutrition.
CMU and Kirtland agreed on a two-year coursework plan for students to complete before transferring to CMU.
“Students can come here for two years and there’s a whole list of courses that blend directly into CMU’S Dietetics Program that they take here at their first two years at a fraction of the cost,” Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences Transfer Program John Thiel said.
Thiel said a benefit of starting the program at Kirtland is students have the opportunity to work more one-on-one with professors before transferring.
