GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina soccer team wraps up their road docket as they travel to North Texas on Sunday. The game kicks off at 2 p.m. ET and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
The Pirates earned a big-time victory at SMU on Thursday. Sydney Schnell’s goal in the seventh minute proved to be the winner as the Pirates weathered the storm of the Mustangs firing the final 17 shots of the match with some fabulous goalkeeping and defensive work. The win, with UAB’s loss to Memphis, clinched a spot in the AAC Tournament for the Pirates. The win was also Gary Higgins‘ 100th career victory including his time at Lenoir-Rhyne.

Scouting the Mean Green
North Texas suffered a setback on Thursday as they lost 2-1 to Charlotte at home. Still, the Mean Green have had a very good season with an 8-4-2 record while being led by Summer Brown’s seven goals with four other players scoring for or more so far on the season. The team is also incredibly hard to beat on their home field as Thursday’s loss was just the 35th in program history at home.

Series History
Sunday’s match will be the first ever between the Pirates and Mean Green.

The Stakes
The math is simple for the Pirates: Win and stay atop the East Division standings. Anything else and the team will need some help.
