Silver Needle Runway Fashion Show

Marist College, Poughkeepsie
May 3, 7–8:30 p.m.

Marist Fashion presents its annual fashion show this Friday at its campus in Poughkeepsie. The largest event production that is hosted by the college, the Silver Needle Runway is a student-run show that has displayed the talent of Marist College fashion students since 1984. Every piece featured in the fashion show is designed and realized by seniors in the fashion design department before being presented in a professional setting.

13th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep

Throughout the Hudson Valley
May 4, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Now in its 13th year, the annual Riverkeeper Sweep is a great way to get involved in Hudson Valley communities during Earth Month. The day of service encourages volunteers to restore stretches of shoreline along the Hudson River by cleaning up trash and debris, removing invasive plants, and maintaining native vegetation. From the city to the Adirondacks, sweep leaders have cleaned up 355 tons of debris in the last 12 years and planted over 7,000 native plants.

Hudson Valley Fisheries Pop-Up

Talbott & Arding, Hudson
May 4, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Join other seafood lovers for this event presented by Hudson Valley Fisheries at Talbott & Arding in Hudson. Sample seared steelhead trout and smoked items to start your day off, then head to the tent outside to purchase any fresh or smoked fish of your choosing. Throughout the pop-up, learn more about how the fish is raised sustainably in a nearby aquaculture system.

Kentucky Derby Celebration

Mill & Main, Kerhonkson
May 4–5

Enjoy the Kentucky Derby with all-day specials at Mill & Main in Ulster County as you also celebrate the restaurant’s one-year anniversary. For the weekend-long event, guests are encouraged to come dressed in derby attire in the spirit of the season. The bar will open at noon to accompany lunch service, and backyard games and activities will be available to play while watching the sporting event on the big screen. Diners who make a reservation will receive a complimentary glass of prosecco at dinner.

Spring Apple Blossom Festival

Hurds Family Farm, Modena
May 4-12, Saturdays & Sundays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Valley’s apple orchards aren’t just fun in the fall, but in the spring, too! Show up to Hurds Family Farm in Modena to experience an orchard full of apple blossoms on weekends this May. Choose to stay in your vehicle for a drive-through experience, hop in a golf cart for a VIP experience after the farm is closed, or take a self-guided walking tour and stay for the day for spring signature cocktails and children’s activities.
