On October 21, the Pocatello Car Club and Idaho Bassheads teamed up to throw their largest car show yet.
According to the car show’s MC, Bridger Andres, the event had only 70 competitors, but they weren’t the only ones to attend.
“On our Facebook page, it said about 1000 people were going, and we’ve got about, I think, 250 cars here today… Usually we do them in the evening, go into the night, but this one, since it’s Halloween and last one of the year, we had to make it big.”
Bass-heads let their subwoofers loose, cranking their stereos. Vehicles competed to see which was the lowest, tallest, the baddest, which rolled the most coal, the best classic car, and the best in show. The competition, all for a good cause.
“Toys for Tots, they reached out to us to put on a car show to help fundraise their events, so we said yes. I think that’s awesome. So, the only way that people could register for this car show is if they brought a $10 or more toy,” said Bridger.
The event wasn’t all about the cars; it was also about the candy and the costumes. After awards were handed out, the vehicles started to change; they became spooky. Families walked between the cars with bags and buckets in hand. The event became one for the whole community with vendors, a raffle, and a ‘trunk or treat’ with some pretty cool cars.
