Rebecca Loos‘ name has been thrust vigorously back into the limelight as a result of the release of the Netflix documentary about David Beckham.
Loos rose to infamy in the mid-2000s when she was reported to have engaged in a sexual affair with the Real Madrid midfielder, which stunned the celebrity world.
Whilst Beckham has never outwardly admitted the affair, it was addressed in the documentary, especially with his wife Victoria detailing just how much of a strain the issue put on their marriage.
Yet, this is where sympathy runs dry from Loos, who has since gotten married herself, as she considers Beckham to be playing the victim from a situation that he manufactured and was in total control of.
“I understand he has an image to preserve, but he is portraying himself as the victim and he’s making me look like a liar, like I’ve made up these stories,” Loos told the Daily Mail.
“It’s all, ‘poor me’. He needs to take responsibility.”
What did David Beckham say about the alleged affair?
Whilst Beckham continues to suggest all talk about the affair was just gossip with no substance, he did speak candidly about the episode in the documentary.
“I don’t know how we got through it in all honesty,” Beckham admitted to the Netflix cameras.
“Victoria is everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters.
“We needed to fight for each other and for our family. What we had was worth fighting for.”
Loos didn’t take too kindly to how the situation was presented on the documentary, feeling as though she was being portrayed as the villain of the piece, even though Beckham was the married man.
“Yes, the stories were horrible, but they’re true. He talks in the documentary about this ultimately being his private life, shutting it down. I think it’s one thing to keep your private life to yourself, it’s another thing to mislead the public,” she concluded.
