Best brunch spots in Texas? These 5 restaurants made OpenTable’s top 100 list in the US


Texas is home to five of the best restaurants for brunch in the country, according to an OpenTable roundup released just in time for Mother’s Day.

The list shares the 100 best brunch restaurants for this year, organized by state. The list includes restaurants from 29 states and Washington D.C., with California having the largest share of restaurants at 13, for the fourth year in a row. One of the Texas picks is Josephine House in Austin, while the others are in Dallas and nearby San Antonio.

OpenTable’s Top Brunch Restaurants in Texas 2024

OpenTable noted that its list of Top 100 Brunch Restaurants was compiled by analyzing more than 14 million diner reviews and metrics, including diner ratings and the percentage of restaurant reviews diners tagged as “brunch.”

Here are the Texas picks:

Josephine House is located in a blue cottage at 1601 Waterston Ave. in the Clarksville neighborhood. The restaurant is a sister establishment to Jeffrey’s, located at 1204 W Lynn St., and serves burgers, huevos rancheros, shrimp and grits, pastries, curry-roasted octopus, Hamachi crudo, spring potato bisque, steak frites and much more.

Josephine House serves brunch daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can make reservations on OpenTable.

Breakfast is usually a casual affair, but not at Josephine House, one of the poshest little places in Austin.
