Kanye West no longer uses Instagram.
The artist shared a screenshot of the Instagram deactivation page on Tuesday, April 18, on the social media site. The confirmation for temporarily removing his account was ready to be sent. Shortly after he said that, the account was turned off.
Ye’s relationship with Instagram has been up and down over the past few years. He was banned from Instagram for 24 hours in March 2022 because some of his posts broke the site’s rules about hate speech, bullying, and abuse. Ye wrote several racial slurs under a screenshot of Daily Show host Trevor Noah’s Google page before he was suspended.
Also, he made a lot of posts that were directed at Pete Davidson, who was dating Kim Kardashian, West’s ex-wife, at the time. He wrote that “Skete,” a comic on Saturday Night Live, “will get my kids mom hooked on drugs. He’s in rehab every 2 months.”
Ye was again banned in October 2022 after making a series of anti-Semitic comments. He came back in March 2023 and said he “likes Jewish people again” after seeing Jonah Hill in 21 Jump Street.
