Reader’s View: US as bad as Hamas with bloody entertainment

The attack against Israel was plain evil, and I pray for all the victims to be healed and safe and for permanent peace.

Jesus said, “Nation shall rise against nation. There shall be famines and pestilences (and) earthquakes. Many will be offended. Betray one another and hate one another. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”

The Bible also states, “And they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” And, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”

Jesus said, “Love one another as I have loved you.”

Hate starts at homes without fathers and with parents on drugs, not teaching right from wrong, or who are too busy for their children. Violent movies and videos as well as toys and books about evil and dark topics pervert young minds. Even schools no longer can be trusted.

I used to love Halloween but now despise it, for it has moved from innocent fun and costumes and candy to gory, evil, and bloody, with haunted houses like at the William A. Irvin, which is sick entertainment. Meanwhile, evil is real in Ukraine and Israel. This all has desensitized children, even adults, in the last two to three decades where teens, even children, have murdered peers or family.

Hamas intentionally exposes children to hate and to the killing of its enemies. How different is it that American children and teens are exposed to violent and bloody entertainment?

I suggest asking Jesus to heal us, our nation, and world. Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you.”
