(CNN)– The Transportation Security Administration expects to set new records for air travel this Summer.

TSA Adminstrater David Pekoske says the agency believes it will screen more than 3 million passengers on some peak days this upcoming season.

Pekoske says so far, the agency has screened about 8% more passengers this year than they did at this point last year.

Memorial Day is considered to be the official start of the Summer travel season.
