AR Furniture Testing Features

Pinterest, a popular social media platform for finding and sharing ideas, has recently launched a new feature that allows users to try on home decor items before buying them. The feature, called Try On for Home Decor, uses augmented reality (AR) to let users virtually place furniture and accessories from brands like West Elm, CB2, Wayfair, and Crate & Barrel in their own spaces, using the Pinterest Lens camera. Users can access the feature by looking for “try on enabled” pins and clicking on “try in your space” to see how the products would look in their homes. The feature currently includes 80,000 shoppable home decor pins.

This new feature is a game-changer for the home decor industry, as it solves one of the biggest pain points for online shoppers: not being able to see how a product would fit in their space and style. By using AR technology, Pinterest is providing a more immersive and engaging shopping experience that can increase customer satisfaction and loyalty. Moreover, the feature can also benefit the home decor brands by driving more traffic and conversions to their websites, as well as boosting their brand awareness and reputation. According to Pinterest, the feature is part of its efforts to make Pinterest a full funnel shopping destination that takes people from inspiration to purchase anywhere in the app.
