Twenty-one members of the Progressive Study Club enjoyed the always-popular annual Fall Style Show presented by Gypsy Lou’s Emporium when the club met there on Oct. 4.
The special guest in attendance was Barbara Burr, mother of departing PSC President Shannon Ashe. At the meeting Ashe turned over her presidential position to Vice-President Joni Huwe and appointed Debbie Dunn to fill Huwe’s position as VP.
Following a short business meeting, a style show featuring fall and winter fashions was presented. Coordinated by Gypsy Lou’s owner and fashion buyer Laurie Carrothers, club members were given a preview of apparel and fashion lines by Frank Lyman, Charlie B., Ivy Jane, Emily McCarthy, Marble and Shannon Passero.
Laurie’s knowledge of the styles and fabrics used by the featured designers enhanced the presentation of the outfits on display. Beautiful accessories complimented each ensemble, including Brighton jewelry and accessories, jewelry by Katrina, John Wind Jewelry, Hobo Handbags, John Hart Designs and many more. Karen Foessler George, Patricia Wiatrek, Angela Lake, Donna Sue Henry, and Store Manager Crystal Bourne modeled 35 outfits for a very appreciative audience. Assisting with the style show were Gypsy Lou sales associate Kayla Jones and shop stager Angela Pittman.
After the style show members had fun shopping for outfits and accessories they considered “must have” during the presentation.
