A former employee of North Ottawa Community Hospital and Trinity Health who embezzled more than $2 million from her employer was sentenced Monday to a minimum of 74 months, or a little more than six years in prison, and ordered to pay the money back in full.

Cindy Norgren, 61, of Spring Lake, was described by Ottawa County 20th Circuit Judge Karen Miedema on Monday as having lived a “lavish lifestyle” during the three years she stole money on a consistent basis. The judge referenced how Norgren had previously stated that her crime was “a mistake.”
