More technology coming to Maine

Boston-based AI innovator has chosen Maine as it’s manufacturing location

A Boston-based AI company, DeepCharge, has chosen Maine as its U.S. manufacturing base, and has opened an office in Biddeford, Maine. The company has collaborated with the Roux Institute in South Portland, Maine & Co and received support and manufacturing investment from the Maine Technology Institute. DeepCharge is partnering with Maine-based Saunders Electronics to manufacture its proprietary platform, which not only radically transforms wireless charging by making surfaces intelligent but also provides high-volume device charging solutions. Yousof Naderi, CEO of DeepCharge, says the support his company has received in Maine has allowed DeepCharge to manufacture in the US, rather than overseas, adding “This step epitomizes our faith in the enduring innovative spirit of American craftsmanship.”The company is creating wireless charging technology using AI, that can transmute standard surfaces like desks or counters into wireless charging stations. The President of Maine & Co, Peter DelGreco, says this collaboration with DeepCharge creates more manufacturing jobs for Saunders and job opportunities for Maine engineering students. DelGreco says, “People that are coming out of colleges and universities that are studying the latest trends realize that they can build their career here.”
