PROMPERÚ and LATAM Airlines have partnered to promote Peru in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, the USA, and Mexico, targeting markets that represent 61% of Peru’s total international arrivals in 2023.
The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) and LATAM Airlines have signed a strategic alliance to promote Peru as a tourist destination in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, the United States and Mexico. These markets accounted for 61% of the total international arrivals to Peru in 2023.
As part of the strategic alliance with LATAM Airlines, which will be in effect until June of this year, digital advertising campaigns are being deployed in the mentioned countries highlighting the tourist attractions of Áncash, Arequipa, Cusco, La Libertad, Lima, Loreto and Piura. Additionally, Chile and the United States, currently the main source countries of international tourists to Peru, will also feature outdoor advertising on screens and digital supports.
The strategic alliance aims to achieve competitive advantages by developing joint advertising activities to promote and market Peru as a tourist destination based on a diversified offer of airfares, enhancing international air connectivity to the country and strengthening its image and positioning abroad.
LATAM Airlines has solid connectivity with Peru from the international markets that are part of the strategic alliance. Specifically, from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, the United States and Mexico, it operates a total of 17 direct routes and 205 weekly flights. The airline offers various options for travelers wishing to explore Peruvian tourist destinations, facilitating access for visitors from different regions of the world.
It is important to note that LATAM Airlines represents 52% of the seat capacity available for international passengers to Peru, making it the airline with the largest market share in the country.
The markets involved in the campaign are of great relevance for Peru. Chile is the foremost source of international tourists to the country. In 2023, a total of 2,524,658 international tourists arrived, of which 593,773 were Chilean travelers. The United States is the second largest source of tourists, with a total of 490,332 American travelers arriving last year. Colombia, Brazil, Spain, and Mexico also constitute the countries with the highest flow of arrivals to Peru.
