Julia Fox Steps Out in a Dress Made of Plastic Wrap

Julia Fox can pull off almost anything, and she just added plastic wrap to the list. Even though Julia Fox’s plastic wrap dress might not be her first plastic ensemble, her undying commitment to the weird fashion bit has us all in a chokehold. Because leave it to Julia Fox to wear everything but the kitchen sink (although we wouldn’t put it past her) and make it look chic.

Fox’s new fashion competition show OMG Fashun challenges fashion designers to upcycle materials and create truly iconic looks. And while her co-host Law Roach has always been an advocate for wearing archival couture on the red carpet, Fox has also emphasizes her love for sustainable fashion. After all, did we really expect her looks to be ready-to-wear?

Yesterday, Julia Fox was seen in NYC wearing an extremely on-brand Luchen FW24 long-sleeve plastic wrap dress and platform boots. While this look gets a 10/10 on the camp scale, Fox also brought the sex appeal by pairing the sheer dress with a black bra and underwear. We might use plastic wrap to keep our food fresh, but Julia Fox just proved it keeps her ‘fits looking fresh too. And after wearing a pierced plastic wrap sculpted dress and matching plastic wrap boots to a Harper’s BAZAAR event almost two years ago, Fox has been ahead of the crowd. It might not be the most practical material, but plastic wrap clothes are the next big editorial fashion trend after accessories made of hair.

One thing’s for sure, Luchen and Julia Fox are a match made in heaven. Luchen’s clothes are definitely avant-garde, with a helmet made of bird feathers as one of its recent pieces—and Fox perfectly captures the strange aesthetic the brand loves to send down the runway. Given Fox’s love for absurd fashion, even Luchen’s most uncanny pieces are right up her alley. And even though we won’t be wrapping ourselves in plastic wrap anytime soon, at least we can always rely on Julia Fox to put us on to the next weird fashion trend.
