Lilo and Stitch’s Live-Action Recasts Selects a New David

David, who Kahiau Machado played in the live version of Lilo and Stitch, is now played by someone else. Kaipot Dudoit, it seems, will now play the part instead.

The Hollywood Reporter says that during Disney’s screening process, old social media posts from Kahiau were found in which he used racial slurs. But Disney wouldn’t confirm that he would be in the movie.

Chris Sanders, on the other hand, is said to be close to finalizing his voice for the part of Stitch. He was the director and writer of the first movie, and he also did the voice of Stitch, a character he made up.

Chris’ return to voice the role has been speculated upon for quite some time, but, in an interview in 2022, he stated that the studio has not formally approached him about doing so.

Lilo will be played by Maia Kealoha, who is new to show business. Sydney Elizebeth Agudong will play Nani.
