AUSTIN – The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is looking for innovative solutions to power the grid ahead of the summer months.
They hosted a special innovation summit in Austin at the Hilton at Austin Airport, gathering experts in energy from across the U.S.
During a panel discussion about demand flexibility, some experts got candid about some of the solutions they’re in need of in order to better service power to their customers.
“One of the things we are grappling with especially as technology evolves quicker and quicker is; how do you measure baseline, especially for impact?” said Maria Belenky, Lead Market Design Specialist, PJM
Measuring an energy baseline is key to measuring performance and energy capacity.
This is the first innovation summit ERCOT has hosted. Other panels touched on technology and energy storage.
