The latest development in the ongoing downfall of Sean “Diddy” Combs occurred last Friday (May 17) after CNN released footage from 2016 of him physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The footage, which validates the claims made in her November 2023 lawsuit, put the nail in the coffin for many celebrities, who are now publicly disassociating themselves from the mogul in the form of an unfollow.
Instagram has been Diddy’s main platform for sharing updates since the lawsuit was filed last year. He broke his silence with an IG post, in which he maintained his innocence and said his accusers were just looking for a “payday.” He also posted an apology video following the aforementioned hotel assault video, claiming he was “disgusted then” and “disgusted now.”
Although the “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper’s follower count still sits at a whopping 19.9 million — a list that includes acquaintances like Drake, Kevin Hart, Joe Budden, and more — there have been a handful of celebrities who have unfollowed him. Sports superstars like LeBron James, Patrick Mahomes, and Steph Curry chose to publicly distance themselves from the mogul, as well as longtime associates like Kim Kardashian and his most recent romantic partner Yung Miami.
VIBE rounded up a list of celebrities who have clicked the unfollow button on Diddy this year.
-
LeBron James
LeBron James has been one of the most front-facing celebrities in the sports/Hip-Hop crossover arena, with successful side endeavors like his The Shop talk show. Throughout the years, he has been seen partying with Diddy at exclusive Hollywood events and singing along to his hits. However, the Ohio-bred athlete has decided to continue his streak of avoiding off-court negativity as he chose to unfollow Diddy on Instagram earlier this week.
The pressure to disassociate himself with Diddy may have been intensified after fans recently pulled up an old clip of LeBron co-signing how legendary Diddy’s parties were. “Ain’t no party like a Diddy party,” Bron could be heard saying in the video. It looks like he won’t be attending any more from now on.
-
Patrick Mahomes
Although a handful of celebrities waited until after the hotel assault video was released to unfollow Diddy, Patrick Mahomes made the move to do so over a month ago. The Kansas City Chiefs star removed himself from Diddy’s follower list after the latter’s homes were raided in March 2024.
Taking it a step further, the Daily Mail noticed the quarterback went back and deleted a handful of old tweets that mentioned his “P Diddy” stage name. Mahomes is making it clear he doesn’t want to be associated with Diddy as of now on, and is making sure every lane is covered.

Floyd Mayweather
While many people chose to stay silent about the accusations made against Diddy after the November 2023 lawsuit, Floyd Mayweather wasn’t afraid to publicly declare his support for him. The retired boxer appeared on The Pivot Podcast on Feb. 20 and refused to speak negatively about Diddy.
“Mistakes happen,” the 46-year-old boxer said. “And I can’t say if it is or if it’s not a mistake, but things happen in life. And P. Diddy business is P. Diddy business. It’s not my job or anyone else’s job to go on the internet and stomp him and kick a man when he’s down. My take on it is it’s not my business. I don’t think it’s right at all and I don’t condone it.”
He then doubled down by bringing up his own daughter, continuing, “Even if that happened to my daughter, I would be hurt, but that’s the choice that my daughter made. So, I don’t wanna kick nobody while they’re down.”
However, it seems like the world champion had a change of heart, as he is now not following Diddy on social media. It’s worth noting that Diddy still follows Mayweather on Instagram as of publication.

Steph Curry
Steph Curry and his relationship with the world of Hip-Hop has been a fun one to follow over the years, as his name is among one of the most mentioned in rap lyrics — over 100 times, according to Genius. However, it’s looking like he’s starting to distance himself from one of the genre’s biggest moguls after he unfollowed Diddy this week.
Although his relationship with Diddy was not super prominent, the Golden State star and the Making The Band creator have shared interactions over the years. After the lawsuits were filed, fans were quick to recall a 2017 exchange between the two on X, formerly Twitter. When Diddy expressed his interest about buying the Carolina Panthers, Curry quoted the post and wrote, “I want in!” Whether the All Star athlete was serious or not, it showed the two were cool enough to publicly support each other.
-
Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian and Diddy have been in similar circles for many years due to them both being in the elite class of Hollywood. Fans noticed the reality TV star unfollowed Diddy on Instagram in March, adding another celeb to the list, but the timing raised an eyebrow.
Reportedly, the Skims founder hit unfollow right before Diddy’s houses were raided earlier this year. On March 25, 2024, Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles were raided by the United States Department of Homeland Security in connection with a sex trafficking investigation. According to Homeland Security expert, Hal Kempfer, the searched evidence included “laptops, flash drives, and anything that would connect Combs with the allegations.”
Combs’ Attorney Aaron Dyer expressed after the headline-making event, “Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.”

Yung Miami
Throughout the entire ordeal, many people have been interested in Yung Miami’s stance. The City Girl has been romantically linked to the music executive since June of 2022, and has remained relatively tight-lipped since the sexual assault allegations were filed.
In terms of public appearances, the pair showed up hand-in-hand at the 2023 Met Gala, 2022 BET Awards, and countless other events. The former REVOLT chairman even gave Yung Miami her own talk show, Caresha Please, on REVOLT. The two artists also collaborated on their “Act Bad” single in May 2023.
Miami has sporadically made cryptic statements on her social media over the last few months, like the time she posted, “Y’all be going for ANYTHING,” on X. Her name was then in many headlines when a story surfaced about her allegedly “transporting pink cocaine” for the mogul.
However, as of this week, the “Twerkulator” rapper officially unfollowed her 2022-2024 beau on Instagram, a move that shocked a lot of people considering their very recent relationship.
