Costco is known for its great deals in many departments, but it is usually their food items that get talked about the most. Well, this time the warehouse giant is making waves in a different department, and we could not be more excited about it!

One Costco member was in the store when he spotted a fantastic deal and he just had to tell everyone about it. The TikTok user that posts under the handle @costcomarkhamea, a nod to how much he loves the store, went in and found a great deal on a car battery that others just could not pass up on.

Of course, other Costco members knew about the deal, but considering the size of the stores there were also a lot of other users that were pleasantly surprised by the product. In a quick video he posted to the platform he stated the 3 reasons he believed made this deal so awesome and why everyone should take advantage of it.

Reasons to pick Costco batteries

Reason number one is the price. Most relevant in today’s world, the price of this battery is unbeatable, at $149,99 sold in stores, and according to the promotor of this new love for the product “The price can’t be beat, it’s the lowest pricing you’ll find on the Kirkland batteries.”

Reason number two is the warranty. According to both the video and Costco policy “…within 48 months they will replace your battery for free if it dies and prorate it after that.” With the price refunded at 50% for the next 49 to 66 months and at 25% for the following 67 to 100 months. All these are based on purchase price and not the current price of the battery. It is a sign on how much Costco believes in the quality of their brand that they are willing to insure their product above and beyond clients’ expectations.

Reason number three is the core charge refund. When you replace your battery at Costco and you bring the old one, they automatically remove the $10 core charge, making the transaction even cheaper for their members.

Now, we know that a car battery is sometimes hard to replace just before it goes bust, which is why most of us have car insurance that includes a handy towing service that will change it for you when your car leaves you stranded, but there are some signs that your car battery is on its last legs and will likely fail soon, like taking a long time to turn the car on, not turning on all the systems at once or changing the dashboard settings to default ones to save on the charge. If you see these signs, consider replacing it before you are unable to turn on your car. If you missed the signs, you can still make it to Costco to swap it out if a friend is kind enough to give you a jump start and get in on this amazing deal.

Having said that, not everyone is as thrilled with the price as @costcomarkhamea. In the comments of his video, other users were stating that the discount giant Walmart had an even cheaper model that also did the trick.

An intense debate began with users giving their opinions on the battery and comparing them in real time, with some users making statements as inflammatory as “You get what you paid for, lucky to get 2 years out of one.” And even worse responses like “That would be great if it were the case. Since they replace your battery free within 48 months and the warranty resets each time, you can get a new battery every two years indefinitely.” With some users confirming that is exactly what they do.
