COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – One person is dead following a shooting at a busy interchange in Colorado Springs.

The investigation has been underway since just after 6 Thursday morning, when a driver discovered an injured person at I-25 and South Nevada. The victim was on the northbound off-ramp.

First responders were initially trying to determine whether the victim was hit by a car or was shot. Police have since confirmed it was a shooting and say the person has since died.

As of 6:36 a.m., lanes are blocked in the area. Drivers are advised to use another route.
