COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Dozens of cars were broken into outside an apartment complex in south Colorado Springs.
Police say they were called to the Bonterra Lakeside Apartments Tuesday after numerous residents discovered their vehicles had been burglarized.
“It appears that between 30 and 40 vehicles were broken into,” a CSPD spokesperson told 11 News.
Investigators are still working to get suspect information, but police say the crime is a warning to all citizens.
“These types of crimes are a big reason we continually remind community members to never leave valuable in your car, lock your car, park in a well-lit area, and never leave your keys or firearms in your car,” CSPD said.
Police did not have information on what was stolen.
The complex is located next to Quail Lake.
