Virginia Suspect In Fatal Shooting At Prince George’s Car Meet Arrested: PGPD


PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — The suspect in a fatal shooting that happened at a car meet early Sunday morning has been arrested, police say.

On May 19 at approximately 1:45 a.m., Prince George’s police officers were called to a shopping center parking lot located in the 6400 block of Marlboro Pike. John Phipps, 26, of Waldorf was found inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital, according to police.

A second man also was shot. His injuries are not considered life-threatening, the police department said.

Information provided by the community led to the arrest of 22-year-old Raheem Adams of Stafford, Virginia. He was taken into custody at his home and has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree attempted murder and related charges.
