
WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) – A teen is facing charges after he allegedly struck multiple vehicles, including two police cruisers, while driving a stolen car in Waterbury.
Authorities said the 16-year-old from Waterbury was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, criminal trover second-degree, interfering with an officer, three counts of criminal attempt at assault on a police officer, reckless driving, evading responsibility, failure to obey an officer signal, and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
Waterbury officers were conducting a stolen car investigation in the area of Midfield Drive and Meriden Road on Wednesday around 5 p.m.
They saw someone driving a 2017 Volkswagen Touareg that was reported stolen out of Stamford. The officers then tried to stop the driver.
Police said the teen hit a police cruiser and rear ended a Hyundai Elantra before hitting another cruiser and a Honda CRV.
Officers then took the teen into custody.
The driver of the CRV was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Nobody else was hurt, police said.
