ATHENS, Ala. (WAFF) – Athens Police Department officials say no one was injured after a vehicle crash into a pizza place on Thursday morning.

Athens Police and Athens Fire responded to Marco’s Pizza at 22099 US Hwy. 72 E after receiving a call saying a car crashed into the building.

Athens Police Chief Anthony Pressnell says the driver’s foot slipped off the brake pedal to the accelerator leading it to crash into the front of the busines.

Neither the driver, occupants, customers or employees were injured in this accident.
