(CNN)– BMW’s “Art Car” is back. For half-a-century, many artists have been picked by the automaker to use one of its vehicles as a canvas.
This time it’s Julie Mehretu, best known for her abstract paintings.
She put her unique paint job on a BMW Hybrid V8, “A plug-in hybrid”.
The artist adapted one of her more popular pieces entitled “Everywhere” which can be seen in New York City’s Museum of modern Art.
The first BMW Art Car was completed in 1975 by U.S. Sculptor Alexander Calder.
