
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A 37-year-old was arrested after a car crashed near The Edgewater hotel following a police pursuit, Madison Police Department reports.
According to MPD, Maple Bluff Police were pursuing the vehicle that came into the city.
MPD officers then responded to the pursuit once they were informed that a vehicle was going the wrong way on Johnson St.
During the one pursuit, one officer tried to stop the vehicle by pulling out spike strips. However, the vehicle swerved around them.
MPD says the vehicle lost control and crashed near The Edgewater hotel.
Two people got out of the car and ran away from the scene.
Officers then found the suspects and detained them, authorities report.
MPD says one of them allegedly lied to police about their identity and was arrested.
The 37-year-old was arrested for having a warrant and resisting arrest.
A firearm magazine was found in the vehicle, but police say officers were not able to find a gun.
Maple Bluff Police will be handling a drug investigation after possible narcotics were also found.
