BEAVERTON Ore. (KPTV) – A suspect is facing criminal charges after Beaverton police said he allegedly threatened a woman with a knife in southwest Beaverton.
The woman said the suspect was driving a motorcycle at the time of the incident and accused her of cutting him off.
“First thing I did was try to remain calm, even though inside I was completely panicked,” she said.

The woman said she’d like to keep her identity private because she’s afraid the suspect, 32-year-old Joseph Lee, may cause her or her children harm.
She said Lee chased her down Southwest Murray Blvd. on a motorcycle while swearing, screaming and kicking. And he pulled out a knife and tried to get inside.
“He was telling me ‘I’m going to slash your tires. I’m going to kill you,’” she said. “The area where he was punching and kicking my car was the back where my daughter was sitting.”
Her 12-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son were in the car with her.
“My kids were startled and I was startled obviously,” she said.
She said she had the chance to escape when the suspect stalled, which gave her time to call the police and show them what had happened.
“I knew he was going to do this to somebody else,” she said.
Police arrested Lee the following night, charging him with driving under the influence and threatening another person with a knife at an Italian restaurant called Brooklyn Trattoria.
“It’s not a surprise to me at all, because I’ve never seen anything like the level of rage I experienced,” she said.
She said her family has been fearing for their safety since the incident, and news of a suspect being taken into custody was relieving.
“I let my kids know as well and they were really happy about it,” she said. “We slept a lot better last night.”
