One killed in vehicle-deer crash Thursday night in Jackson County


HOLTON, Kan. (WIBW) – One person was reported dead after a car-deer collision Thursday night in Jackson County, authorities said.

The crash was reported around 8:45 p.m. Thursday near 254th Road and US-75 highway, about 2 miles north of Holton.

According to Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse, a southbound vehicle struck a deer, causing fatal injuries to a passenger.

The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
