Flint woman found dead in her car along Detroit-area freeway

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) – Police are investigating what caused a Flint woman’s death along I-94 in the Detroit area early Friday.

Michigan State Police say the Van Buren Township Police Department in western Wayne County located the 59-year-old’s Honda Civic parked along the westbound I-94 exit ramp to Haggerty Road around 2:35 a.m.

Police discovered the woman was dead inside her car due to unknown causes.

Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said there were no signs of a crime or drug use. Investigators also did not find any damage consistent with a crash that had occurred recently.

An autopsy will be scheduled to help determine how the woman died.

“Once the autopsy is completed, we will be able to determine our next steps in this investigation,” Shaw said.
