MONROE, La. (KNOE) – The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman on May 21 on several charges, one of which was trafficking children for sex.
According to arrest records, Makieja Vallaire of Arcadia traveled to Monroe with three friends. One of the people Vallaire was traveling with was a juvenile. Arrest records show the juvenile told officers Vallaire had been talking to an older man through Tinder.
The juvenile told officers that while on the way to Monroe, Vallaire told the juvenile the man was going to pay $60 “up front” in exchange for sexual favors from the juvenile. According to arrest records, Vallaire told the juvenile to get in the man’s vehicle once they were at his house and get the money.
The juvenile told officers she got in the car with the man but told him she was uncomfortable, so they got out of the vehicle and started talking. The three other people the juvenile traveled to Monroe with, including Vallaire, then got out of their vehicle. One of the three people, a juvenile male, was holding a handgun, according to arrest records.
According to arrest records, the juvenile told officers her friends took the man’s wallet and shots were fired, but she did not know who was shooting. The juvenile told officers she then got in the vehicle with her three other friends and tried to drive away, but the vehicle got stuck in the mud while backing out of the driveway.
The juvenile told officers that she and her friends tried to get the vehicle out of the mud but were unsuccessful, so they asked the man whose wallet they took to come help them. The juvenile said she made Vallaire give her the man’s wallet and cash so she could give it to him in exchange for help in getting the car out of the mud.
According to the arresting officer, the investigation showed the Monroe Police Department worked a very similar robbery just days prior. The juvenile was shown a picture of the suspect from the robbery MPD investigated, and the juvenile confirmed MPD’s suspect was Vallaire. The man with who the juvenile was in the vehicle was also shown a picture of MPD’s suspect, and he too confirmed the suspect was one of the people who just robbed him.
Vallaire was arrested on three counts of armed robbery; attempted armed robbery; use of a firearm; additional penalty, four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, two counts of criminal conspiracy, and one count of trafficking children for sex.
