Rochester man ejected from car in East Avenue crash, driver flees scene

Rochester, N.Y. — Rochester Police Officers responded to East Avenue for a report of an unresponsive male in the street just before 11:30 on Friday night.

Shortly after, officers found the victim, an 18-year-old man. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he is being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

An early investigation suggests that he was a passenger in a 2001 Mercedes traveling eastbound on East Avenue when it struck an unoccupied vehicle parked legally.

The crash caused the 18-year-old to be ejected from the vehicle through an open window. The Mercedes remained on the scene. However, the driver fled and has yet to be located.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
