The Infamous Car Club raises money for veterans

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) – The Infamous Car Club started as two people hanging out in the parking lot. It has now formed into a car club that has fundraisers for different needs in the Mid-Ohio Valley communities. Being able to support veterans and the community feels amazing to them.

They held a car show fundraiser on Memorial Day weekend to raise money for veterans.

“It means so much that everybody came out and showed support for the veterans and infamous. We have struggled for so long; I remember when I started this club, it was me and one of my friends hanging out in the parking lot. Now it has grown to all this, it is amazing.” said James Turner, President of the Infamous Car Club.

Showing support to veterans is highly important because not many fundraisers are held, and being able to be a part of one is rewarding.

“We need to show them support because not a lot of people are doing fundraisers for them. We do fundraisers for a lot of different foundations; we are going to do one for the Newport Fire Department. We are also going to do one for the New Matamoras pool and a couple of other foundations that need help.” said Turner.

Every fundraising event held has something fun for all ages.

“It is all about building the community. We want to bring the community to the cars. The cars are a way for us to bring the community out and bring the kids out. We have activities for the kids as well; we have a Hot Wheels track, and we’ve got games. Every one of our events are going to have things for the kids, come out and check out the cars.” said Turner.

Their next event will be July 4th, 2024, to support the Newport Fire Department.
