SUNSET BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – Four people were hospitalized after a three-car crash in Sunset Beach Saturday.

It happened around 1:00 in the afternoon on Old Georgetown Road near Clubhouse Drive. Both lanes were shut down for close to two hours and traffic was rerouted to U.S. 17.

Sunset Beach Fire Chief Richard Childres said he believes two of the people hospitalized are in critical condition.

All the vehicles in the crash are totaled.
