Jaffa Shrine sees large turnout for 31st annual car show

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Over 400 cars were at the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona on Sunday for its annual car show, way more cars than the organization originally expected.

“We were hoping to fill this entire parking lot with cars. The Jaffa, our car club is the Jaffa Classic and Antique Car Club. And we try we want to try and fill this parking lot as much as we can. You know, with cars, all the antiques, fire trucks, lifts. So it’s just really it’s – it’s amazing,” said Barry Wright, President of the car club.

Some of the cars that were on display date back to the early 1900s and some cars were even available for purchase.

“Well, as I said, for 31 years we’ve been doing this and we just like to try and raise money, even though we didn’t charge for admission today,” Wright said.

“I’ve been a member of Jaffa for 47 years. I was one of the first members of the Antique Vehicle Club. So it’s just a good place to come. We have food trucks and everything this year. And as you can see, we got a lot of cars this year,” David Peterman, a member of the club said.
