WILLIAMSTOWN, W.Va. (WTAP) – Williamstown is getting ready for its annual Music in the Park.
This has been an annual tradition for a little over 20 years and it is open to the public. It will take place in Tomlinson Park and it is the biggest it has ever been.
A member of the Lions Club says they even have bands on the waiting list.
The event is free and all you need to bring is a chair or blanket.
Music in the Park will be held every Monday in June beginning at 7 p.m.
“Starting June 3rd through the middle of August, we will be here at 7 o’clock, and we have a different group come each week, and we have the best one we have ever had this year; in fact, I have 3 of them on the waiting list now. When Jean Ford was the mayor, she called and said Harold, I need somebody to take over the music in the park, I said Jean I don’t know a thing about music, she said oh, you’ll do okay, and I said, well I will try and I love it, I really do I look forward to it.” said Harold Swartz, Lions Club member.
The first band will play on June 3rd at 7 p.m.
