One dead after being struck by golf cart in Bollinger County


MARBLE HILL, Mo. (KFVS) – A Benton, Missouri man is dead after being struck by a golf cart in Bollinger County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, the collision took place at 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 26. The crash location was on Hwy 34 west of Route Y, 12 miles west of Marble Hill.

The crash occurred as a passenger in a 2006 Club Car Golf Cart was ejected and struck by a Textron E-Z-GO.

The passenger was identified as 37-year-old Patrick L. Shelton of Benton, Missouri. Shelton was pronounced dead on the scene by Dr. Anna Delanis at 12:57 a.m.

This is the 24th traffic fatality in MSHP Troop E’s area for this year.
