Two children return home after getting into car driven by another kid who stole it, police say


MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy returned home safely after police said they hopped into a car driven by another child who stole it from his mother.

The children were reported missing Monday morning from the 200 block of Bullington Avenue in South Memphis, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).

Police said they believe the children got into a car with 14-year-old Addiye Mays, who stole it from his mother. The vehicle is described as a gray Hyundai.

MPD described Addiye as 4-foot-8 and 100 pounds with a low-cut haircut.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Memphis Police at 901-545-2677 or the department’s Missing Person Bureau at 901-636-4479.
