ELLIS COUNTY, OK (KOKH) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) is investigating a deadly single-car crash in Ellis County.
Officials said the incident happened Sunday night at 10:00 on E County Road 37 around 731 feet west of US-283.
According to OHP, the driver of a Ford F-150 crossed US-283 and lost control on the gravel after crossing US-283, causing the truck to depart the roadway to the right.
Investigators said the truck rolled two times before hitting a tree and coming to a stop.
The driver was reportedly pinned before being extricated by the Hurst tools.
OHP said the driver, identified as 20-year-old Arely Tarango, was pronounced dead on the scene.
The two passengers were treated and released from a local hospital for minor injuries.
Investigators believe the cause of the crash is due to speeding.
