If you’ve noticed people on the streets of the UK capital looking even more fashionable than usual, it’s because London Fashion Week is just around the corner – and the style set have officially landed. Here’s everything you need to know about London Fashion Week’s June 2024 edition, from scheduled designers and events to exhibitions and panel discussions.

London Fashion Week June 2024: A Guide

What Is London Fashion Week?

Organised by the British Fashion Council (BFC), London Fashion Week is a large-scale event comprised of catwalk shows, showrooms, presentations and events held all over the UK capital multiple times per year. During its regular months, February and September, it showcases the talents of over 250 designers from Britain and beyond.

The June edition of London Fashion Week typically focuses on menswear brands and designers – but in 2024, as part of its ongoing 40th anniversary celebrations, the BFC is making some changes. A programme of events will coincide with various runway shows and presentations, spanning panel discussions, exhibitions, dinners and parties.

When Is It?

This iteration of London Fashion Week takes place from Friday 7 June to Sunday 9 June 2024.

Where Is It?

A combination of runway shows, presentations and events will take place in multiple locations across the capital. Shows are typically invite-only and locations are revealed nearer the date – but don’t worry, a number of ticketed public events will also take place in London over the weekend (more on that below).

A Celebration Of Menswear: Who’s On Schedule?

The June edition of London Fashion Week tends to be a little more condensed, spanning three days rather than a whole week – but it still attracts some of the biggest names in fashion. And this year, the BFC has introduced a ’40 for 40′ programme in honour of LFW40. This will consist of a lineup of 40 activations hosted by British brands and designers across the city including catwalk shows, presentations and events. And excitingly, on Friday 7 June, the winner of the BFC/GQ Designer Fashion Fund will be announced.

Designers supported by this programme will receive financial support and mentoring as well as showcasing opportunities.

The NEWGEN committee is led by Sarah Mower MBE, who also oversees the Ready-To-Wear panel, while British jewellery designer Stephen Webster MBE leads the Accessories panel. The NEWGEN recipients for 2023/24 include Aaron Esh, Chet Lo, Helen Kirkum, LABRUM London and yuhan wang. DiscoveryLAB

Another consistent component of London Fashion Week is the DiscoveryLAB segment. Spotlighting new and upcoming designers in an immersive showcasing environment, DiscoveryLAB sees creatives break the boundaries between fashion, music, art, photography and performance while presenting exciting new projects.

London Fashion Week June 2024 Events Guide

London Fashion Week continues its principal partnership with 1664 Blanc this June, launching a series of curated events, exhibitions and industry panel talks at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts.

A Celebration Of Culture

Alongside its LFW40 celebrations, the BFC will be shining a spotlight on three cultures that have made a huge impact on the British fashion industry: Black culture centred around self-love; South Asian culture with focus on pattern, textile and craftsmanship; and queer culture, with a spotlight on young creative voices from the trans community. Highlighted through a photography exhibition, titled A Celebration Of Culture, these spotlights will be built on each year, with storytelling focusing on British brands and designers, as well as personal stories from a variety of communities within these cultures.

This year’s exhibition will feature the work of Stephen Akinyemi, who will be exploring black culture through the lens of beauty and self-love, Tami Aftab, whose photographs capture South Asian culture with a focus on pattern, textile and craftsmanship, and Dani D’Ingeo, who will document queer culture with a spotlight on young creative voices from the trans community.

A number of events will be informed by this exhibition, guest curated by Clara Amfo, Kai-Isaiah Jamal and Simran Randhawa. These include:

  • In conversation: Spotlighting cultures with LFW guest curators Clara Amfo, Kai-Isaiah Jamal and Simran Randhawa | Friday 7 June, 10.30am
  • Sound & Harmony: Clara Amfo spotlights Black artists | Friday 7 June, 2pm
