Game time, television announced for Georgia vs. Missouri

ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia will play its second ranked team of the 2023 season on November 4 when 7-1 Missouri rolls into town. That game could go a long way toward deciding which team will represent the SEC’s Eastern Division for the final time in the league championship game. We now know that the game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.

The Bulldogs and Tigers will be the first leg of a day-night CBS double header. The network, which got the first two picks of the SEC games that week, chose LSU at Alabama for it’s game of the week. That one will start at 8 p.m. ET.

UGA and Mizzou sit No. 1 and No. 2 in the SEC East standings after eight weeks of the season. The Tigers have wins over Kentucky, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt within the conference. They also have a non-conference win over Kansas State. Missouri’s one loss came a few weeks ago at the hands of LSU and it is on bye this week with a chance to rest and prepare for Georgia.

The Bulldogs play Florida on October 28 after being off last week. They are 7-0 on the year with wins over Kentucky, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Auburn in league play. Dating back to the 2019 College Football Playoff, Georgia has won 24 straight games and it has won 23 straight games at home dating back to the 2019 season.

It’s the first 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff between these two teams since Missouri joined the league in 2012. These two teams have most commonly kicked off at 7pm or later with a few noon kicks sprinkled in. Most of those have taken place in Columbia. Georgia was Missouri’s first SEC opponent 12 years ago and the Bulldogs have won 10 of those meetings with the Tigers’ only win coming inside Sanford Stadium in 2013.
